Is there much difference between a 5 mega pixel camera and a 8 mega pixel?
And what is a good brand to buy for everyday use?
Eight megapixels is alot better than five. The real difference is in the size of pictures you can create. 5 MP is more than enough for internet pictures and regular photos. If you want to print out great quality full page (8 1/2 x 11) picture, you’ll get noticeably better image quality. Megapixels shouldn’t be your only basis for judgement, however. A nine megapixel camera with a bad lens or high noise will take terrible pictures compared to a four MP camera with better features. As to brand, I’m most familiar with Canon and would recomend one of their cameras. I find that they are reliable and very user friendly. But remember, it’s important that you get a chance to see what kind of pictures the camera takes and make your own choice based on your needs, instead of doing what other people say.
