Best way to take a digital picture of a television screen?
We need to take digital photos of a TV monitor for an endoscope for education reasons as the VCR recorder is broken today. We find some pictures have the lines, and some don’t. I am wondering if we increase or decrease the megapixel of the camera, would it help diminish the lines overall?
I overcome the interlace problem by using a longer exposure than the interlace. You have to experiment, but I have found that 1/8 of a second always does pretty well. Of course, you need to use a tripoc with that slow of a shutter speed. Just put your camera on shutter priority (or Tv, coincidentally…) and select 1/8 of a second. I try to set up so that the camera is perpendicular to the TV and centered. You should have no other lights in the room on, if possible. If not, be careful to choose your point of veiw so that there are no unwanted reflections.
