What is the best digital high quality camera to get for less then 500 dollars ?
The Nikon DSLR D40 with kit lens is under $500. The best value on the market for quality digital at a reasonable price.
But remember, it is just a tool. The photographer is the real link that creates high quality with his / her skill and knowledge. If you take the camera and just put it in AUTO with no knowledge of photographic principles, you might at well have a $100 point and shoot and flush the rest of the money down the toilet.
