help downloading videos from digital camcorder?
i have a Hitachi DZ-HS300A DVD-HDD Hybrid Camcorder 8GB Capacity 25x Optical Zoom DZHS300A and i plugged in the usb cord and the computer found the camera but the folder where the videos should be is empty. i have got videos off of the camcorder before but i don’t know if i deleted the program it came with to download videos off the camcorder or if its something im doing wrong. please help
If your computer has a drawer loading DVD drive, then finalize the disc in the camcorder, take the disc out of the camcorder, put it into the computer’s drawer loading DVD optical drive and rip the video using a DVD ripper like HandBrake.

Convert the VOB files to something your video editor can deal with – MovieMaker likes .avi, .wmv, .dv among a few other formats. Once converted off the DVD, drag the converted file into the video editor you are using.
