How do they check Carry-on luggage?

Contacts w/ 10oz or more of combined contact solutions (I will pack in another set if they be d*cks about it… Even though all medications no matter how much are allowed…)
17″ Laptop
PSP
Camera Bag w/ Camera inside it
Metal Mechanical Pencils, Metal Pens, Binder, etc.
Some granola bars and chewing gum (Again, will carry majority of stock inside check in luggage)
Asthma Inhaler
I am worried they will mishandle the laptop, and break the HDD. I should upgrade to an SSD, but the laptop is old so whatever…
Anything liquid will be in a clear bag that is sealed in case of mishandling of the content inside the backpack.
I might bring a tripod.

Contact lens solution IS CONSIDERED medication and you can take whatever size you want.
- if it has previously been opened, some airports will do a chemical test on it. Which means they pour a little on a cotton ball and put it in some machine.
You are find with everything else.
Security will not touch your laptop. You will take it out of your back and put it on the xray belt and then you will pick it up on the other side.
