Please help! Pest problem, don’t know what it is!?
We have an insect (6 legs), it has a yellowish tinged transparent body, has a thin body(narrow and long) and a separate head with antennae, black eyes, and has a long tail that folds under itself, and folds out sometimes(maybe when it jumps?), the insect is totally about 2 mm long, extremely delicate, hardly was able to catch one without it squishing. They also seem to jump like a flea, but it does not look like one at all.They come out in the summer, we haven’t seen them all winter. They also seem to come out promptly at 9 o’clock. We notice them as we’re sitting on the couch. We could not distinguish where they are coming from, most likely from the couch, but possibly from the carpet? I don’t know. I was unable to send a photo because it is too small to see detail on a camera, you can only really see it under a microscope. Please help! We’ve been trying to figure this out for the past year or so.
google information on a critter called a Springtail and see if that is it…
