Nikon D60 SLR Digital Camera?
Hi!
I want to start taking high quality picture’s and i’m wondering is this the right camera for me?

The D60 is outdated tehnology and has been discontinued. Its replacement is the D3000 or D5000.
Like the D60, the two newer cameras don’t have a focus motor in the camera body so you must buy AF-S lenses if you want auto focus.
The higher price of the D5000 is due to its Live View and HD Movie Mode.

To make high quality pictures requires knowledge of light, composition, exposure and depth of field and then practice using that knowledge until you know how to make the picture you want to make. Good photography requires thinking and thinking requires time. Anyone who suggests going out and just shooting and shooting and shooting is telling you how to take snapshots, not how to make a picture.

My camera was on a tripod (I consider a tripod mandatory for landscape photography) and before I even thought about my composition I picked up 3 cigarette butts, a discarded tissue and a plastic bottle. I started out more to the right of the bench and farther back. Didn’t like how it looked in the viewfinder. Tried a couple more compositions and finally chose this one. I used my knowledge of how to achieve maximum depth of field with the lens I was using to make sure all was in focus. 21mm lens at f16, “focused” at 6′-0”, Minolta XE-7 35mm film camera loaded with Kodak Ektar 100.
