What is a good microscope to buy for home use?
I’m looking for a good quality microscope to use at home for investigating things, inspecting edges for tool wear, etc. I want good quality – good image quality and reliability, but I don’t need anything industrial strength with lots of fancy features. I’d like to spend no more than $200, but but I might be willing to go higher.
Check Craig’s List, eBay, or similar sites for used ones. I’ve had good results from Edmund Scientific (first reference) but haven’t tried the second.
