Where does my video camera hook up to my cpu? Do I need an adapter?
I have some videos on my video camera that I want uploaded to my computer. But the cord used to connect the camera to the cpu looks like a USB cord bu tit isn’t. It is rectangular like a USB cord but one side of the rectangle is rounded. So it isn’t a USB cord. I can’t find where on my cpu it hooks up. Do you know where it hooks up to my cpu or what this type of cord is called? I can’t find a picture of it because I don’t know what it is called. I have a Dimension E520 harddrive, Dell. And a Dell monitor.
And do I need an adapter? If so what and how much does it cost?
Oh and my video camera is a digital JVC 800x. Please help. I really need to upload these videos.
Where can I find that adapter? Can anyone give me links to a website that sells them?

if so, thats a firewire port. it is used for video cameras because it has much higher transfer speeds.
if your desktop doesnt have one of those, you can get an expansion card for the back of your computer that will add the right ports like these:
