How can I transfer videos from a non-digital video camera to my computer?
I’ve got an older video camera that is not digital and I can’t transfer video to my computer. When I hook-up the camera to the computer using the USB cord that came with the camera, nothing happens. And when I search the computer for video cameras it doesn’t show up. It’s like the comp doesn’t even read it. I don’t know if there was ever a disc with the camera but if there was it’s long gone.
The camera is a Sony Handycam Hi8. Not sure what year.
What can I do? I really want to edit my videos.
Hi8 is analog. Youneed to get an “analog/digital bridge” like those from Canopus or Pinnacle (Dazzle). USB transfer will not work. That is used for streaming or transferring stills from a memory card only.
